What is the Survivorship Bias?

Hey everyone! For this week’s Phrase of the Week, I will talk about survivorship bias. It is a form of selection bias that occurs because we only see the winners and get a distorted view of the odds.

Based on our human psychology, we are trained to take advantage of information in front of us, and ignore the information we do not or is unable to see. The survivorship bias hence implies that the highest performing realisation will be the most visible.
