Video games have been considered one of the biggest distractions for today’s youth, they have even become the target of radical groups that accuse it of “being violent, sexist and harming health.” These dilemmas would not be important, if it were not because they harm the presence of video games with learning, since they allow young people to practice and experience without leaving the theoretical model. One example would be the video game “Wargroove” which places us in a world with magic that is in conflict. The gameplay of Wargroove is similar to chess: we are the commanders of an army made up of different types of troops, our objective will be to face the enemy that has the same types of units as us.

It is true that today, academic institutions have developed numerous “academic” video games that seek to be attractive to students; however, they never become popular enough to match even the simplest mobile games like “Among us”. These academic games fail in a fundamental detail that we will see more later.

Why are academic games not so attractive?
